The hand therapists at Miriam May Occupational Therapy Practice are delighted to be Partners with We Design Silversplints.
• We Design
is a company in the Netherlands offering beautiful silver ring splints for a more permanent solution to control movements in the joints of the hand. https://silversplints.co.uk/
• The splints are made by a team of highly skilled silversmiths following personal assessment and measurements taken by the hand therapist in the clinic.
• These silver splints are effective, durable, hygienic and really attractive.
• The hand therapists will be able to teach other therapeutic techniques to support improvement in function and pain in your hand.
• The hand therapist will be able to trial splints made from thermoplastic prior to your commitment to a silver version.
• Taping can also be very effective. You can explore all these options when you attend.
Should you wish to go ahead with the silver splints the process will be as follows:
- You will attend hand therapy appointment for assessment for suitability followed by measurement
- Payment by you for the splints (after the appointment)
- Splints made in the Netherlands and dispatched to us
- You attend for fitting and alteration of the splints to ensure a good fit
- Occasionally, a second fitting appointment is required
